VOLUNTEER

Join the Team

Thank you for signing up to volunteer with The Monarch Mile!

In 2021 we worked closely with Burbank Parks & Recreation, planting natives in four beds along Chandler at the Pass intersection.

Our first-year goals were simple.  We began native plant workshops, built good working relationships with our Parks Department, and gained experience in organizing and maintaining plantings. In 2022, The Monarch Mile volunteers have worked to maintain the four original beds, installed a new pollinator bed at the Chandler and Maple intersection, and have recently begun to prepare more beds along the bike path for fall planting. Next, we hope to expand plantings and work with more fantastic volunteers, and expand our network of great people!

You don't have to wait to get dirty or put your coordinating talents to work! Upcoming volunteer dates are posted on our home page

and our events page. Come join us and help prepare for the fall planting season!

As our calendar of events continues to fill in, please also consider visiting native plant nurseries such as Theodore Payne https://theodorepayne.org/ or exploring the websites of advocacy and research groups like the Xerces Society https://www.xerces.org/pollinator-conservation.

Send us your photos and let us know how your native plants and pollinators are doing!

What is your experience level? Select all that apply.

Thanks for submitting!
